Artisans' cottages. 1909. Barry Parker and Raymond Unwin. Painted pebbledash, except where specified below, with plinth of brick in Flemish bond to crosswings only; kneelers of tile and tile hanging to one dormer. Roof of tile with swept eaves and exposed rafter ends. The group is designed after the pattern of a double-ended hall house. Two storeys. Five-window range to hall and one window to each crosswing which is gable facing. Identical to design of Nos. 2-8 Asmuns Hill (even; q.v.} except that the gable facing dormer over the cross passage is tile hung not hipped. Of note is the fact that the right-hand wing is faced with unpainted pebbledash as in Nos. 2-8. Single-storey rear wings to end units. The Asmuns Hill group is a most important example of a complete Parker and Unwin streetscape.
