Stable. Early C18 and C19. Rubblestone with freestone quoins and dressings and a C19 English-bond wing to the right with similar quoins and dressings, all with a stone slate roof. L-plan. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 2 windows to the rear. A forward-facing gable to the C18 block has a freestone surround and planked door to a loading bay over high C20 garage doors with brick jambs. The right return has a wide C18 planked door in a chamfered freestone architrave. The mid C19 brick right wing is open to the ground floor with a small planked door above. The gabled right return has exposed rafter ends. The rear, of rubblestone with a vertical joint between the C18 and C19 blocks, has a leaded cyma-moulded 2-light window with square lights to the C18 block and a fixed 6-pane window to the C19 block. Interior remodelled in late C19 with late C19 roof trusses. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: coped rubblestone walls surround the site. Attached to the front left of the stable, approx 4m high, it sweeps down to 2m and extends approx 10m forward to the street. There, a 1m length meets a low pier with a pyramidal cap. A similar pier flanks an entrance (probably widened C20), then the wall approx 1.5m high fronts the house (qv). Toward the centre are similar gate piers approx 2m high. The wall bordering the churchyard to the right (north) returns for approx 10m and is attached to the house. To the rear of the stable the wall, approx 3m high extends back for approx 10m, turns right (north) and bounds the site for approx 40m. Approx 10m from the left corner is a blocked doorway with a chamfered rusticated freestone architrave. At the right end the wall sweeps up, turns forward for approx 10m, sweeping up again to approx 4m and attaches to the house with a freestone arch and C20 door through to the churchyard.
