Public House. Early/mid C18. Limestone rubble with freestone quoins, doorcase and painted dressings to the windows, C20 plain-tile gambrel roof with 2-light raked dormers and brick stacks to gable ends, double-Roman tiles to the stable block. 2-unit plan with C19 stable block (now a restaurant) attached to the right, and a C20 rear extension. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with attic; symmetrical 3-window range. The central C19 4-panel door, glazed to the top, in a chamfered architrave, has a flat hood with moulded edges on brackets. It is flanked on both floors by 3-light windows with cyma-moulded stone mullions, C19 small panes and 4-pane sashes to the centre lights; a similar 2-light window is above the door. The one-storey stable block has no windows to the front and a C20 4-pane window in the right return. INTERIOR: to the ground-floor right is an open fire with a chamfered stone surround, a roughly chamfered beam with protuding knots rests on the lintel of the right-hand window. A door of 3 wide planks and 4 chamfered beams remains on the 1st floor.
