The Lodge
II
Lodge. Built in 1840 by Thomas Hopper as one of three lodges to Stansted House. Faced with Roman cement with roof concealed by parapet with 2 rendered chimneystacks each with 4 square chimneys. Two storeys. Three windows to front and two to sides. Parapet, moulded eaves cornice and stringcourse. Front has engaged columns on high plinths flanking each window bay. Similar pilasters to sides. Twelve pane sashes in moulded architrave surrounds. Central round-headed doorway with keystone, impost blocks and round-headed door of 6 moulded panels.
