II
House. 1590s, extended in C18, underbuilt in brick about the same time and refenestrated c1928. Timberframed building with frame exposed on first floor with plastered infill and brick ground floor. Hipped thatched roof with clustered brick C16 chimneystack. This was a 3 bay central chimney house with projecting eastern gable and contemporary lean-to. The western bay is a later addition and the rear addition and western 2 bays of the roof are C18. Two storeys; 4 windows. 1920s casements with leaded lights. C20 gabled weatherporch on rustic poles. Ground floor has former kitchen with open fireplace with wooden bressumer, mark of crane and some reused panelling above. Spine beam with one inch chamfer with lambstongue stop and joists of square section. Former parlour also has open fireplace with wooden bressumer and spine beam with lambstongue stop.
On the first floor, the easternmost room has jowled posts, there are old floorboards, a series of plank doors on pintle hinges, an C18 queenpost roof with through purlins and ridgepiece and a small door above the outshot for storage of some kind, possibly an appleloft.
