House. Circa late C16/early C17, or possibly earlier; remodelled and extended circa C18 or C19 and with C20 addition. Red sandstone rubble. Asbestos tile roof with gabled ends. Gable-end stack with stone weathering and later brick shaft. PLAN: 2-room plan main front range, the large left room with a gable-end fireplace and now with direct entry through a doorway at the front to a central staircase; the house possibly originally extended further to south. Circa C18 or C19 wing to rear of left end and C20 extension at rear. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 3-window west front with C19 3-light casements with horizontal glazing bars and C20 louvred shutters; doorway to left of centre with panelled and glazed door and stone gabled porch. Left [north] gable end has C17 timber 4-light ovolo-moulded mullion window on ground floor and small square window above. At rear 2-storey stone extension on right with hipped roof. INTERIOR: Larger room on left has large dressed stone fireplace with timber bressumer and circa late C16 or early C17 moulded plasterwork over the ceiling beams with trailing vine decoration and designs on ceiling with fruit and a bird. Timber-frame partition at centre and three jointed cruck trusses.
