Bridge Cottage
GV II
House. Circa 1830-40. Stuccoed stone rubble, exposed at rear and on north side. Low-pitched hipped slate roof with deep eaves. Brick side stacks. PLAN: Double-depth plan with two principal front rooms and central entrance hall. The back rooms were probably used in association with its reputed former use as a tanner's house; there is a blocked first floor doorway in rear wall. Small single-storey service wing and outshut at rear. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Almost symmetrical 2~window west front. Ground floor tripartite sashes with glazing bars and diagonal bars to top and bottom panes of the side-lights; first floor sashes with margin panes; central doorway with pilastered doorcase with roundels and panelled door. At rear a blocked first floor doorway, single-storey outshut with slate lean-to roof and small gable-ended wing on right. INTERIOR: Panelled partition walls in hall.
