House. Circa 1600, extended circa late C18 or early C19, later C19 and C20. Brick and timber frame faced in brick and tile-hanging. Clay plain tile hipped roof Brick axial stack at the centre and brick stack at north west end. PLAN: 2-bay timber-framed house with central axial stack with back-to-back fireplaces; extended in brick in circa late C18 or early C19 by one bay at either end and later in the C19 outshuts were added at the back; a short central rear wing was built in the C20. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 4-window south west front with 2 and 3-light casements with horizontal glazing bars; centre of first floor is tile-hung. At rear north the roof is carried down as catslide over an outshut and at the centre a short C20 wing with a half-hipped roof INTERIOR: Wall-framing exposed, square panels and straight tension-braces, jowled storey-posts supportmg tie-beam trusses with collars, clasped purlins and wind-braces; some of the common-rafter couples intact. Chamfered ceiling beams with cyma and hollow-step stops.
