II
House. c1912. By Reginald Longden for himself. Brick with some half-timbering and plain-tiled roofs. Arts and Crafts Vernacular Revival style. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 2-window range comprising a pair of advanced gables divided by narrow entrance bay. Central entrance in recessed porch between the 2 gables. Shallow cambered timber lintel. Left-hand gable has 4-light mullioned window to first floor, tripartite mullioned window below. Right-hand gable is half-timbered with brick nogging to lower storey, and with decorative timber panels (cusped quatrefoils etc) above. 4-light mullioned window with decorative leading forms a continuous band at first-floor level. Main roof dips down to right of this gable, and wraps round angle over projecting porch. Axial stacks. Paired half-timbered gables in symmetrical rear elevation. INTERIOR: not inspected.
