Formerly known as: St Leonard's Bengeo.
Former vicarage of St Leonard's Church (qv) which adjoins to
north-west, now private house. Late C16, with C18, C19 and C20
alterations and extensions. Timber-framed and plastered,
rendered brickwork, old tiled multi-gabled roofs.
South elevation with irregular 7-bay front, 1 room deep.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attics, first floor has 7 sashes,
mainly 12 pane, gable above window in third bay from right,
ground floor has wood casement windows below segmental arches,
12-pane sash beneath gable and large early C19 French windows
with moulded mullions and transoms and divided glazing beneath
broad segmental arch at right.
North elevation with projecting gables left and right (latter
extended 1989), central projecting gable, brought forward
1989, over projecting ground floor porch. Recessed gable to
left, and low pitched Welsh slated lean-to across front,
infilling between projecting gables and central porch.
Irregular fenestration, late C19 timber-framed porch with
brick base half-glazed, leaded light, glazed sidelights,
cambered embattled head with ornamental studding and
pebbledash panels above, and oversailing open gabled roof
supported on moulded consoles.
Roof: 1 box casement dormer on left of south face, central red
brick chimney, clustered square shafts, with oversailing
courses and long orange clay pots, other chimneys rendered.
