GV II
House, now offices. Early C17, refronted early C19, with 1970s
alterations including part rebuilding of front. Timber-framed
structure, plastered at rear, with front of yellow stock
brick, Flemish bond. Old tiled roof, former front parapet now
demolished, with 3 gables at rear. Yellow brick chimneystack
at left with projecting band. 3-bay E plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Front elevation has 3 recessed sash
windows with glazing bars, outer windows 3 light, under flat
rubbed arches, now cement rendered over. Ground floor with 2
similar outer windows and C20 central reproduction pedimented
doorcase and panelled door. Pink granite spur stone at
left-hand (west) to protect corner to Brewhouse Lane.
Rear elevation has flush set multi-pane sash window with
margin-glazed sidelights on first floor at left, remaining
windows are C20 replacements, including 2-storey flat-roofed
projecting bay at right.
INTERIOR: rear range timber-framed with exposed beams in rear
left-hand (west) room; front rooms much altered and with a
high ceiling level. Pillar-urn newel, stick balusters and
moulded handrail. Front first-floor rooms with higher ceilings
following removal of attic. Right-hand rear room now forms
passage to first floor of No.30 adjoining (qv). Roof not
accessible for inspection.
