Timber-framed and stuccoed below old tiled roof and tall red
brick chimneystack against end wall of No.4; tall external red
brick chimney against rear wall.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. First floor has 2 flush set sash windows,
glazing bars and architrave surrounds, that to right partly

length plate glass display window, divided by central mullion.
Three quarter glazed entrance door at left, pilaster with long
console flanking left side of fascia and blind box. Rusticated
stucco quoins left and right, and shallow break in elevation
at first-floor level suggesting former jetty. Roof with gabled
casement dormer at right.
INTERIOR: partly contiguous with No.8 (qv) at first-floor
level. Ground floor has 3 bays, and a truncated 4th bay
defined by exposed beams with cut off ends and propped by
cast-iron columns behind shopfront. Fireplace on rear wall,
with niche alongside. Jowled posts and tie beams exposed on
first floor, with mortices for heavy arch braces, now missing,

former open hall. Some late C17 plank doors with iron strap

No.4 (qv). Roof has halved and pegged rafters but disturbed
sequence of assembly marks.
Together with No.8 (qv) this formed the original premises of
