Former Lodge to Christ's Hospital
School

Numbered 123 on OS map.
Lodge, now offices. Early C19 with C20 alterations. Red brick,
laid to Flemish bond (south wall partly refaced), Welsh slated
hipped roof with lead roll hips and ridge, above corbelled
brick cornice; central red brick chimney with oversailing
courses and 4 pots 3 pale yellow with rim tops.
EXTERIOR: south elevation, first floor left-hand and ground
floor right-hand, late C20 multi-pane wood sash windows under
brick soldier arches. First floor centre, carved Portland
stone cartouche with armorial bearings of City of London. East
elevation has blocked ground floor gatekeeper's doorway
beneath rubbed brick segmental arch and splayed corner with
single sash window first floor and ground floor beneath rubbed
segmental arches. Late C20 gabled porch with Welsh slated
roof.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Included for group value as part of the Christ's Hospital
complex.
