GV II

Two cottages, now house. Early C18, with early/mid C19 front block. Stucco, partially incised, over timber frame to the front, cob to the rear, slate roof of 2 ranges with ridges at a right-angle to each other with stack to the rear left. 2-unit plan (formerly 2 one-room cottages). EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; one-window range. C20 window and door. To the front of the left return is a bulge in the wall, possibly a former stack or stair turret. INTERIOR: the rear cottage is at a lower level, the walls are approx 1.2m thick with a former open fire to the rear left wall; the 2-bay roof has trenched purlins. The front cottage is altered though there is evidence of a former staircase to the rear of the former fire on the left-hand wall; the roof has a ship's mast as a collar beam.
