Three houses. Early C19. Painted stucco, continuous slate roof
with rendered ridge stacks. Double-depth plans.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. No.12, Rose Cottage, to the left is
2-window range. It has a modillion cornice and 6/6-pane sash
windows at eaves level over a mid C19 stepped-forward shop
front with small panes, a cornice to the fascia and a C20 door
to the right.
No.13 to the centre of symmetrical 3-window range; flanked by
chamfered rusticated pilasters; C20 horned 6/6-pane sash
windows, those to the 1st floor at eaves level, and shallow
single-storey canted bays flanking a 6-panel door glazed to
the top set in an early C19 doorcase with pilasters and
horizonal diamond shapes to the frieze.
No.14, Corner Cottage, at a right-angle to Fore Street facing
west, has a hipped slate roof with a stack to the rear left
and 3-window range with horned plate-glass sash windows and
late C20 door.
INTERIOR: is altered.
A little-altered early C19 terrace, which is pricipally
included for the contribution which it makes in the historic
centre of Shaldon.
