Pair of houses and rear wing, now 2 houses. Early C18. Limestone rubble with ashlar ridge stack and stone slate roof. PLAN: L-shaped range of two 1-room plan houses incorporating a right-hand rear wing attached to No.19 High Street (qv). EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic; 2-window range. Altered ground-floor openings with a timber lintel to a former left-hand window with a C20 door, cambered heads to 2/2-pane ground-floor sashes, and horned plate-glass first-floor sashes with margin panes in exposed boxes; right-hand flat-headed dormer with a 2/2-pane sash. The left-hand gable is rendered to the first floor, with a wide right-hand doorway with flush panels, and a shop window with 15/15-pane Yorkshire sash, and 6/6-pane attic sash. The wing has oak lintels to sashes with glazing bars. INTERIOR: details of the main house include a rear stair flight, chamfered ceiling beams and 3-bay roof with collar trusses.
