GV II
House. c1770, altered early C19. Limestone rubble dressings, originally roughcast or stucco, with stone gable stacks and a stone slate mansard roof. Mid Georgian style. Double-depth plan. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, attic and cellar; 3-window range. A symmetrical front with rusticated quoins, frieze, cornice and parapet, and low plinth; all the dressings set proud to allow for a render coat. Good Neo-classical Doric doorcase has attached columns on raised bases to an entablature with triglyphs and a pediment, and steps up to a 6-panel door with the top pair glazed. Windows have raised surrounds to 6/6-pane sashes, small cellar lights below ground-floor windows, and 3 gabled casement dormers. INTERIOR: not inspected, but noted as having a central passage divided by a round arch, stone fire surrounds and panelled shutters.
