GV II

House. Late C17. Coursed limestone rubble with uncoursed rubble first-floor with quoins, brick gable and ridge stacks and stone slate roof. Single-depth plan. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic; 3-window range. A range projecting back from No.26 (qv) has cambered heads to 2 doorways with C20 doors and a left-hand C20 casement; timber lintels to 3 first-floor openings, outer ones wider with squared rubble infill, a right-hand C20 casement and central and left-hand 6/6-pane sashes including a central 6/6-pane sash, and casement dormer; right-hand single-storey outshut. The right-hand coped 1-window gable is a pair to that of No.20 (qv), with a weathered band above the ground-floor. INTERIOR: details of No.30 include a heavy ceiling beam to the ground-floor with wide chamfers, splayed window reveals to thick walls, a rear left-hand winder stair with a 3-plank stair door, and 2-bay roof with heavy purlins, a collar in the gable and C18 tenoned ridge. Further information: The gable end a pair with that of the adjoining No.20 (qv).
