Mansion. c1889. By Thomas Harris. Coursed dressed sandstone;
plain tile roof; various rubble and ashlar stacks with moulded
caps. E-shaped on plan, with wing to right rear.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic; 5-window range: central mullion
and transom oriel with moulded underhang, in ornate ashlar
porch-bay under elaborate shaped gable; flanked by 5-light
mullion and transom windows, and advanced canted 2-tier bays
with mullion and transom windows, under parapets with openwork
balustrades, and enriched shaped gables; cornice.
Porch: moulded arch with keystones, flanked by attached Ionic
columns; steps to part-glazed panelled door in moulded case;
vaulted ceiling with moulded ribs; cornice; flanked by mullion
and transom windows with coloured clerestory lights; moulded
band to plinth. Lead rainwater goods.
Left returned side: semi-circular bay window; advanced bays
under shaped gables with attic lights.
Right returned side: mullion and transom windows; bay window
to ground floor; returned parapet and balustrade; advanced bay
under shaped gable with attic light; bands; cross-windows and
mullion and transom windows to ground floor.
Rear: mullion windows; shaped gables; bellcote; tower with
castellated parapet; courtyard range with arcade openings.
INTERIOR: panelling, with coved pilasters; gallery; open-well
staircase.
