National Provincial Bank, now restaurant. c1870s. Dressed freestone; brick to rear; asbestos slate roof to front and dry delabole slate roof to front; stone stacks. Deep plan. Italianate style.
2 storeys; symmetrical 1:3:1-bay front. Plinth, moulded sills and mid-floor entablature over keyed round arches on moulded imposts linked to transoms between rusticated pilasters with - Corinthian capitals; lst floor with eared and shouldered architraves and triangular pediment hoods; moulded entablature with modillions under parapet linked to end pediments over entrance bays broken forward. Articulated freestone stacks with moulded entablature. Original2-pane horned sashes to lst floor; C20 glazing to ground floor. Doorways have consoles under capitals and carved friezes; plain fanlights over doors. INTERIOR not inspected except to note open well staircase with turned balusters.
