Public house. C17, altered. Painted roughcast with slate roof.
2 low storeys. The windows have painted surrounds with
projecting sills and are sashed with no glazing bars to their
lower panes. On the ground floor there are 2 windows, the
right-hand one with paired sashes. Both surrounds have
triangular tops with incised ornament. On the 1st floor there
are 2 windows, the right-hand one with paired sashes. At the
left a doorway with plain reveals leads to a yard entrance.
The main doorway is between the ground-floor windows and has a
painted stone surround with a stone hood on brackets. Chimney
behind ridge at junction with rear wing.
INTERIOR: the right-hand front room contains a shouldered
stone fireplace of C18 type with an elliptical arch and
chamfered false voussoirs. To the right of the entrance is a
timber wall formed from both vertical planks and raised and
fielded panels.
