Boundary wall, passage and ha-ha south and east of Wollaton Hall

Boundary wall, passage and ha-ha. Early C19. Brick, partly
rendered, with flat ashlar coping.
Boundary wall, rendered, approx 2m high, runs south from the
corner of Wollaton Hall (qv) for approx 100m, in a series of
curves. At the south end, a segment-arched board door under a
flat gable. The door leads to a segment-arched brick lined
passage, approx 3m long, with 3 round-arched recesses. The
passage continues eastwards approx 25m, unroofed and flanked
by brick retaining walls. It emerges near the Camellia house.
The ha-ha runs from the south end of the boundary wall to form
an oval enclosing the Wollaton Hall gardens, ending near the
north corner of the Hall. Approx 600m long.
