Terrace of 30 houses. c1860, altered late C19, restored c1980. Brick, painted, with slate roofs and renewed brick stacks. Ashlar and stucco dressings. Renewed doors and glazing bar sash windows. The terrace is stepped uphill from east to west. 3 storeys. The houses are mainly units of 3 bays with blank centre windows and alternating stucco doorcases with round heads or cornices on brackets. Nos 15 and 17 have corniced doorcases in a different style. At the west end, No.30 has a canted bay window. At the east end, a larger corner block, altered late C19, with a symmetrical centre, 3 windows, flanked by canted bay windows, 2 storeys. The Promenade is part of a planned development including Campbell Grove and Robin Hood Terrace, which followed the Enclosure Act of 1845.
