SK37NW HILLFOOT ROAD, Totley 784-1/12/885 (West side) 25/08/71 Nos.5 AND 7 Bryn Cottage (No.5) and Moor Cottage (No.7)

House, now 2 cottages. Dated 1704, with C19 and late C20 alterations. Coursed squared stone, the rear wing pebbledashed, with ashlar dressings and steep pitched concrete tile roofs with 2 brick gable stacks. Single coped gable with kneelers. L-plan. 2 storeys; 3 window range. South front has a central 2-light casement flanked to left by a similar window both with chamfered stone mullions, and to right by a single light window. All have chamfered stone surrounds. Below, off-centre C20 door with stone lintel inscribed "A W 1704". To left, a small window, and to right, two 2-light windows, all C20 and with stone lintels. Right gable, to street, has to right a C20 casement with wooden lintel and below, 2 small windows, the left one blocked, with stone surrounds and label moulds. Rear wing, to right, has a small window with stone surround and below, to left, a similar window. To right, a C19 3-light casement. North gable has to left, a small window on each floor with stone surround and label mould. Lean-to porch to right. INTERIOR not inspected.
