2 houses, later warehouses and works, now shops. c1770, altered mid C19 and mid C20. Red brick, with painted ground floor, painted ashlar dressings and slate roof with modillion eaves. Double range plan with warehouse and factory additions at the rear. 4 storeys; 7 window range of mainly original 12-pane sashes on a sill band, with wedge lintels and cornice keystones, arranged 3:1:3. Above again, similar smaller windows on sill bands, the third floor windows without lintels. Central wooden doorcase with pediments, fielded 6-panel door and fanlight. To right a similar doorcase, incomplete. To left, a round-arched doorway, c1820, with keystone. Other ground floor openings are insertions, C19 and C20. INTERIOR has an original wooden oval spiral staircase, full height, with stick balusters and ramped handrail. Stairwell with modillion cornice, fan ceiling and niches. 2 minor stairs with stick balusters. Three C18 panelled doors. Ground floor right room has Adam style frieze and cornice and elliptical arched niche. Softwood king post roofs. C18 elliptical arched brick cellars. An example of the adaptation of houses to serve as workshops and warehouses, common in the Nottingham lace and textile industries before c1850.
