Includes: No.6 (part) BRIDLESMITH GATE. Shops and offices. 1895. By Heazell & Son of Nottingham for J Hind. Extended 1896 for C Tyler. Altered late C20. Red brick with ashlar dressings. Roof not visible. Italianate style. Angle pilasters, cornices to ground floor, second floor and eaves, balustrade with pedestals. Windows are mainly original plain sashes with stone surrounds. Windows to first and second floors have segmental heads and keystones. 3 storeys plus attics; 2 x 2 windows. Corner site, with polygonal corner tower. Ground floor has a corner doorway flanked by panelled pilasters and single plate glass windows. Right return has a replica late C19 wooden shopfront with central door and overlight, flanked by single plate glass windows with fanlights. On each side, rusticated ashlar pilasters. Corner tower has 3 sashes on each floor, those to attics with flat heads. Front to St Peter's Gate has 2 windows on each floor, the attic windows flanked by pilasters. Right return has to left, single windows on each floor. To right, a canted bay window with cornice, 2 storeys, 3 sashes, and above it, paired segment-arched windows.
