SJ4912SW TOWN WALLS 653-1/15/675 (South side) 10/01/53 Nos.22-25 (Consecutive) The Crescent (25) and adjoining railings
GV II
Terrace of 4 dwellings built on a shallow curve, some now in use as offices. c1790. Attributed to Joseph Bromfield, a local plasterer and architect. Brick with low pitched Welsh slate roof. 3 storeys over basement, each dwelling a 2-window range. Doorway of each unit to the left, with architrave recessed in shallow arch and 6-panelled doors with ornamental traceried fanlights. Ground-floor windows slightly recessed, with ornamental fanlight of doorways echoed in plasterwork over. Upper windows are 12-pane sashes with flat-arched brick heads. Parapet eaves cornice. End wall stacks. Cast-iron railings adjoin over basement area. Rear elevation has stone eaves parapet and advanced 4 central bays with brick pilasters. No.25 listed 30.5.69.
