Office building, now restaurant. Dated 1876, converted 1992.
By Alfred Smith of Nottingham. Stucco and ashlar, with ashlar
dressings. Roof not visible behind coped parapet with finials.
Gothic Revival style. 4 storeys; 2 window range. ground floor
has a 3 bay arcade enriched with fleurons, and ringed granite
shafts with foliage corbels. To left, a recessed porch
containing a pointed arched window and door with shouldered
heads and a central shaft. To right, 2 reglazed windows.
Above, a canted ashlar oriel window with central gable
containing a roundel and 4 pointed arched plain sashes with
granite shafts and elaborate ornament. The bracket is enriched
with coloured tiles. Above again, 2 plain sashes with pointed
arched heads and impost band, all enriched. Above again, 2
segment-arched plain sashes with moulded impost band.
