Sawmills. c1870, with mid C20 alterations. Brick with stone sills, some renewed in concrete. Gabled and hipped slate and corrugated iron roofs. Truncated square factory stack. EXTERIOR: front range, to Savile Street, 2 storeys; 8 window range. T-plan. Central gable has 3 round-arched glazing bar windows on each floor. Lower range to left has 3 reglazed 3-light casements, and below, a round-arched glazing bar window to right and an altered cart entrance to left, with wooden door and slatted grille above. Range to right has the upper floor covered by a sign board. Below, a round-arched glazing bar window. To right, beyond a cart entrance, a single storey office. Riverside seasoning warehouse, 3 storeys plus basement, 9 window range. On the first floor, tall openings, 2 to left open, the others closed by wooden panels. Above, 9 small square openings, the right one blocked. Ground floor has to left a cart entrance under a relieving arch, and to its right, 2 glazing bar cross casements, with a square basement opening below the right one. To right again, 3 round-arched openings, then a double loading door. To left of the warehouse, office range, 3 storeys; 2 window range. First floor windows have slightly segmental heads, second floor ones have concrete lintels. Left window barred. Ground floor has 2 smaller windows. Central range of open racking with clerestory roof and ground floor sawmill with beams carried on cast-iron posts. INTERIOR not inspected.
