GV II
Grinding hull, now metalworker's shop. c1864, with mid C20 alterations and additions. Brick with slate roof with 2 brick stacks. Single storey; 6 window range. Off-centre board door, flanked to left by a 12 pane sash. To its right, 2 wooden cross casements with altered glazing. At the left end, a single storey lean-to addition at right angles, with a 3-light glazing bar casement to right and a small C20 window to left. To right, a single storey corrugated iron lean-to with a 6-pane window. INTERIOR not inspected. This building was used for the grinding of decorators' spatulas and scrapers made in the nearby blade forge, and was part of the same small industrial unit. This was a typical form of industrial organization in Sheffield.
