House. Early C19. Coursed limestone rubble and dressings, ashlar gable stacks and double Roman tile roof. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys; 3-window range. Symmetrical front has coped gables and quoins, a plain door surround and a bracketed pediment, 3-light and central 2-light cyma-moulded stone-mullioned windows, with late C20 ground-floor 4/4-pane sashes, and leaded first-floor casements with stay bars and turnbuckles. Rear elevation has segmental-arched sashes and 3 wide, segmental-arched doorways with 2-leaf doors. INTERIOR not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached left-hand squared, coursed stone wall; gate piers with ball finials flank C20 gates, with C20 pedestrian gate flanked on left-hand side by gate pier with moulded cornice and half-round cap. Reputed to have been the coach house to Castle House (qv).
