Pathology laboratory and mortuary. 1902-04, an ancillary building to Crossley East Hospital , a specialised institution for the treatment of TB, sponsored by the Crossley family of Manchester. Common brick, with red brick dressing and hipped concrete tile roofs with a coped ridge stack. Single storey, 3 bays, L-plan. Windows are mainly original wooden cross casements, Front has in the centre 2 windows flanked by canted bay windows. The larger bay window, to left, has a door and overlight to the inner angle. The smaller bay window has 3 lights. Left return, with approach ramp, has 2 windows to right , and to left, a segment arched doorway with overlight and sidelights. 2 segment arched windows at rear. Right return has a single window to left, and to right, a larger segment arched window. To its right, a pair of doors with louver ventilator in the segmental overlight.
INTERIOR: Not accessible at the time of survey, but retains dissection slab.
