3 terraced houses. Mid C19. Nos 55 and 59 red brick in Flemish bond, No.57 stuccoed. Each has Welsh slate hipped roof, brick stack to left of Nos 55 and 57 and to right of No.59. 3 storeys and basement, 3 bays 1:1:1. On left of each house is a recessed door, 6-panelled to Nos 55 and 57, No.59 has a 3 panelled door with 2 moulded upper panels and flush lower panel with incised pattern, each with fanlight set under gauged brick round arch to Nos 55 and 59, stuccoed arch to No.57, moulded rendered imposts and panelled reveals, No.55 has flanking lion head motifs below imposts. To right of each door and to first floor is a 12-pane sash set under flat gauged brick arch to No.55 and rendered arch to Nos 57 and 59. On second floor No.55 has 12-pane sash and Nos 57 and 59 each has a 9-pane unequal sash. INTERIOR not inspected. (Lloyd DW: Buildings of Portsmouth and its Environs: Portsmouth: 1974-: 91).
