Detached house. c1898. By Amos Faulkner; built by William Willett & Son. Red brick with stone dressings which have been painted. Tiled gable roofs with tall brick slab chimney-stacks, mainly reduced in height and altered.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attics. 3 gabled bays. Asymmetrical design. All windows with glazing bars. Projecting right hand entrance bay has porch with timber barrel vaulted hood carried on 2 stone columns; to right 3-light transom and mullion window with small pediment. 1st floor with 4-light window flanked by pilasters supporting a frieze, the outer lights are separated from the central 2 by round-arched niches. Sill band connects to paired pilasters at angles supporting a heaving projecting modillion cornice around this bay only and forming the base of the modillion pediment with a radial patterned fanlight window on a stone band. Central bay with tall 3-light transom and mullion window, right hand lights blocked. 2-light window in gable. Left hand bay has 3-light transom and mullion window with small pediment and single window to right on ground floor; 1st floor, a 5-light casement window and a 2-light window in gable. 1950s brick garage to right hand side, not of special interest.
