TOTTON AND ELING SU 31 SE TESTWOOD 1860/5/10021 The Fishing Cottage . II House. Early/mid C 19. Red brick, Flemish bond at front. Clay plain tile roof with gabled and hipped ends. Brick gable-end and axial stacks. PLAN: Front range of two rooms with central cntrancc; parallel range at rear. The front range appears to be of two builds, the left an early-mid C 19 addition, and the right part of the original early C19 build, integral with the right-hand return [N] elevation and rear [W] range. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Ahnost symmetrical3-bay east front with 16-pane sashes in flush cases, those on left larger; central doorway with moulded doorcase with panelled reveals, flush-panel door and later open wooden porch; o~al stair window above with radiating glazing bars. Rear lW] range set back on left with 16-pane sash. Similar sashes and casements on other elevations; canted bay window at rear [W]. INTERIOR not inspected. NOTE: Situated on the banks of the River Test.
