GV II
House. Late C15/early C16 with C18 front. Timber-framed and formerly jettied; faced in red brick; roughcast render to south side. Roof with C20 single Roman tiles and a modillion eaves cornice. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, cellar and attic. 3 window range: sashes with single vertical glazing bars in flush cased frames with flat gauged arches. A 6-panel door has panelled pilasters and a pediment on enriched console brackets. INTERIOR: modernised cellar with rendered walls has segmental-arched niches all round. Frame in 3 bays. The north and centre bays have exposed timbers and ceilings: on the ground storey main cross-beams with a wide chamfer and closely-set unchamfered joists. The main beam of the central truss has a dovetail housing for a missing main post. On the upper storey the end walls have tension braces halved against the studs. Crown-post roof: plain crown-post with short braces to the collar-purlin; end trusses with additional short downward-sloping braces from posts to tie-beams. The end bay on the south is a later addition with most framing concealed.
