SY6683 DORCHESTER ROAD, Broadwey 873-1/8/658 (West side) 14/06/74 No.623 Broadwey Cottage (Formerly Listed as: DORCHESTER ROAD, Broadwey No.625 Old Broadwey Farmhouse)

GV II

Farmhouse, now house. Late C17, altered late C18. Rubble, concrete tile roof. A small-scale gabled range continuous with the front of the adjoining farmhouse, but with much lower ceiling heights; the front wall is immediately adjacent to the rear of the pavement, and the ground-floor window sills are at pavement level. 2 storeys, with a large flat-roofed C20 dormer inserted to the right. To the left is a small 2-light C18 wood casement with original leading at eaves level, and a late C20 casement below. To the right is a large tripartite 4:12:4-pane sash, and to the left is a blocked opening with wood lintel. The gable return to the left has a late C20 casement at each level, set to original openings with segmental heads, and the rear has C20 dormer, casements and door, with a small hipped return wing. INTERIOR: probably retains original fabric. (RCHME: Dorset, South-East: London: 1970-: 359).
