House. Mid to late C16. Timber-framed with the timbers exposed on the jettied upper storey. The ground storey has been faced with brick, now plastered. Concrete plaintiles to front slope of roof, C20 single Romans to rear slope. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. The jetty has a moulded bressumer and is supported on 2 small solid brackets. One window to each storey: both small-paned C20 casements. A 2-storey flat-roofed extension at the rear. INTERIOR: much modernised in 1960s with few features exposed. Small cellar with flint rubble walls and a vaulted ceiling in C19 brick. On the upper rear wall the middle rail of the frame is exposed and a section of studding; a main beam has a long jowl and the housing for a missing arched brace. A face-halved scarf joint in the rear wallplate.
