SU 74 NW SOUTH WARNBOROUGH ALTON ROAD (east side) 11/32 South Warnborough Manor 8.7.52 House (formerly listed under The Street)

Early C18, late C18, C19. 2 storeys and attic. Entrance (west) front is L- shaped with a projection of 1 bay at the north side, with a lower C19 2-storeyed wing attached on the north side of the projection, and a small 1 storey wing at the south end of the block: 2.1.4.2 windows. Steep tiled roof with hipped ends. Later wing has hipped slate roof of low pitch with eaves. Stucco walling with parapet, pilaster at south side, stone cills, plinth. Tall sashes in exposed frames. Greek Doric porch, with 2 columns between square corner columns, in front of 4 pilasters, enclosing a round-headed doorway with a radiating fan- light and reeded door frame, all on a raised podium with a flight of 4 steps in the centre. Modern glazed door. The east front has a regular 6-bay form, with a 2-bay lower extension to the north. The stucco walling has end pilasters, parapet with band, 1st floor band, and plinth. Sash windows, including 3 early C18 upper windows. A wider-arched doorway with fanlight; the wing has a plain doorway in a slightly-projecting framework. The complex internal angle of the north-east corner has 2 dormers, a bell-turret fitted to the roof slope, and a 6-panelled door beneath an oval fanlight.
