Nos 1 and 2 Sickle Mill Houses (Formerly listed as Sickle Mill House)
Former boiler house to east of 2 Sickle Mill Houses

C17 building with altered front. Front range of 2 storeys, 4 windows. High pitched
tiled roof with rebuilt off-centre stack. Late C19 casements in unsophisticated
vermiculate cement architraves set in a pebble-dashed wall. Right house (No 2)
has modern door under cornice hood. At left a one-storey extension with hipped
tiled roof and dentilled eaves cornice. Behind No 1 a building of similar period,
with a half-hipped tiled roof and brick and tile-hung walls, runs back into hill
slope. Former mill race now blocked. Behind No 2 a mill building of early C19
appearance with 2 parallel ranges, one of brick with tall square chimney, one timber
framed and tile hung, with the mill race running beneath it although the wheel
has been removed. Back of main house shows rubble stone walls with red brick dressings.

C18-19 former paper mill. One and 3 storeys, timber-framed, weatherboarded, tiled roof.
