Clergy house. 1860. By William Butterfield. Brown brick with
red brick and stone dressings, including strings at sill
levels. Slate roof with 2 gables. Gothic style. 4 storeys and
basement. 4 bays. Projecting entrance bay with pointed arch
entrance with wrought-iron gate, a cross over and the words
"Saint Alban The Martyr" forming an arch. 1st floor 3 cusped
lancet windows with blind lancets to either side. 2nd floor 2
narrow segmental headed windows with paired, pointed
dripmoulds over. 3rd floor in the gable, 2 narrow segmental
headed windows with blind plate tracery and a pointed
dripmould over. Windows to right and left of entrance bay
similar with variations. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY
FEATURES: attached wrought-iron railings with lamp-holder to
areas.
