Barn: C16 or earlier. Timber framed and weatherboarded. Plain tile roof with hip
to west. Four bays. Entry in second bay from east. North elevation with three
windows. East gable with ground floor ledged door, door to first floor and loft door.
Interior: first, second and 4th trusses from east with crown-posts with upward braces;
first and second trusses with mortices for former downward braces on north; third
truss altered; collar purlin; old rafters; old posts, except for third post on N from
E end; tie beam braces to 2nd truss from E. West end wall framing with two large
braces. The whole of the lower part of the barn is floored over. Roof descends low
over weatherboarded outshut on West with stone plinth; its west wall with two small
windows with timber shutters. Interior: three loose boxes with probably C19 partitions;
floored over by probably C19 timber ceiling with chamfered joists and beams.
Extensions of west outshut on N and S. Weatherboarded extension on S with E and W
doorway at N end; modern garage door in S gable. Interior of N extension: brick
floor at N end; jowl posts, apparently partly cut back; later roof with ridge piece.
Brick and weatherboarded extension on N with E and W doorways at S end; Interior: roof
with ridge piece.
Brick open sided shed attached to and at right angles, on E, to N extension to barn
outshut. Plain tile roof with east hip. Two bays; S elevation open-sided.
Brick stables: attached to and at right angles to S extension of barn outshut. Red
brick with flared headers. Plain tile roof. One storey and loft. South elevation
with a window and a doorway. Interior: stone coaled floor; C19 timber ceiling with
stopped and chamfered joists; rear hay rack with aperture for hay from loft; four stalls
with boarded partitions. Half door in east gable and loft door also.
Adjoining wing on west with brick rear and end walls and pairs of vehicular doors
in front wall. Interior: C19 queen strut roof with ridge piece. Boarded tack room
at W end with late C19 grate to corner fireplace.
