HIGH STREET 1. 5393 (East Side) Haslemere Museum (Formerly listed as Haslemere Educational Museum) SU 9033 SE 2/78 3.12.53. II GV 2. The museum consists of 3 separate but adjoining buildings. The southernmost is a substantial late C18 house of 2 storeys, 7 bays, the 3 central bays in full height cambered projection. Stuccoed front with plinth and quoins. Wood moulded and dentilled cornice. Swept tiled roof of moderate pitch with modern flat central dormer. Sash windows With glazing bars. Next section of 2 storeys, 3 windows, circa l800. Low pitched hipped slate roof with wood moulded and dentilled cornice (these cornices are probably a modern unifying feature). Stuccoed. Recessed sash windows with glazing bars. Curious, heavily naive porch with paired Tuscan columns front and rear, stars and quatrefoils in frieze. Northern building of C18 appearance Two storeys, 2 windows on 1st floor, one wide window below. Stucco with brick dentil cornice and hipped tiled roof. Possibly once a stable.
