House. Probably C15 timber framed 3-bay open hall, altered to form a lobby entrance house in the early C17, by the insertion of a ceiling to the hall and chimney-stack, when the separately framed 2-bay cross wing was added, clad in flint with red brick dressings in the C18 and with mainly C20 fenestration. Exterior of flint with red brick dressings. Very steeply pitched peg tiled roof with gablets and off central brick stack. 1 storey and attics, L-shaped. Mainly C20 casements to ground floor and hipped flint and brick porch with modern wooden door. Rear elevation has 1 C19 metal casement and plank door. Cross wing has some diaper brick-work to ground floor of gable. 3 C20 casements and 2 modern dormers (one hipped). Interior of original hall house has 2 square crown posts each with 2 foot braces and arched brace to collar beam. 1st floor has exposed jowled posts and arched brace. Ground floor central room has an early C17 chamfered bressumer to open fireplace with rushlight marks, bread oven arch opening and alcove and brick floor. Chamfered spine beam and floor joists. The early C17 cross wing, which is framed separately, has an arched brace roof. 1st floor room has jowled posts and a ceiling with chamfered axial beam with run out stops and similar floor joists. There is some exposed square framing with curved tension brace and an original window opening (now decorated with C20 turned balusters). Ground floor has exposed chamfered beam and C18 curved brick fireplace.
