2. 1869-70 W B Stewart architect. Formerly residence of the Woodall family. Jacobean mansion 2 storeys and attic red brick with stone dressings, plinth, string courses, cornice and parapet. Main south front set on strapwork balustraded terrace to gardens. Long front with Dutch gabled 3 storey bay to west end central 3 storey Dutch gabled projection and 2 square, ogee lead domed, turrets to east end. Dormers with semi-circular stone tympani with finials. Stone mullioned windows in rusticated surrounds 2 storey mullioned canted bay to centre projection and large leaded oriel how through 2 storeys between turrets at east end. Entrance in western Dutch gabled block to street - engaged banded stone Ionic columns on pedestals, triglyph entablature surmounted by scroll cartouche with flanking pyramid finials. Picturesque sky line particularly as seen from Foreshore.
