ST ANNE'S STREET 1. 1594 (South Side) No 18 SU 1429 HE 4/163 28.2.52. II* GV 2. Corner site with The Friary qv. C14 with C18 alterations. 2 storeys and attic. Timber frame with plaster infilling, part brick. Old tile roof. Half hipped gable to left oversailing at 1st floor and attic levels with attic casement. C18 canted bay window. C19 sashes, on lst [loor, and on ground floor C16 sash window, 4 panes wide, with panelled shutters and 6 panel door, under gable, in moulded frame. Right handpart of front has one headed hipped dormer casement and one Cl6 sash window to both floors, 4 panes wide, shutters on ground floor. Front to The Friary has timber framed upper print oversailing brick round floor. Hipped dormer with leaded casement, 2 leaded casements on 1st floor and on C18 3 light casement on ground floor. Single storey later extension with slate roof. 2 light casement and garage door. Interior: the roof is largely C14 king post truss, brace to square set ridge piece, possibly only early ridge piece in Salisbury, original valley rafters. 1st floor room with fireplace with chamfered stone jambs and cambered timber lintel.
Nos 2 to 18 (even) form a group with Nos 1 & 3 and with Friary Court and Craddock House, The Friary.
Nos 2 to 18 (even) also form a group with the Old Bell Inn & St Anne's Garage Exeter Street.
