WOOD STREET 1. 1577 (South Side) No 14 (Gothic Cottage) SZ 5992 2/372 II

2. Circa 1840 originally servants quarters of No 13. Two storeys stucco faced, band between storeys and flanking pilasters, plinth. Gothicised with cross gables East and West, the latter with ornamental bargeboards, the pilasters capped by octagonal chimney stacks. Six windows, first floor. Three in crenellated canted bay through both storeys, two light recessed casements with glazing bars, splayed reveals, drip moulds over. Above door a small lancet. Western window, under gable, is an oriel type of three similar casement lights, stepped panelled apron, frieze and lean-to rendered roof. The ground floor centre window of bay is a French casement and the left hand ground floor window is also a French casement with side lights. Diamond framed panel with coat of arms and drip mould over, below oriel. Porch with splayed Tudor arch. Door recessed, panelled with two lancets. Small octagonal turret flanking porch to right.
