Farmhouse. Medieval, probably late C15 or early C16. Coursed rubble stone, partly dressed, with timber framed north end from first floor upwards, small brick wing to south. Cotswold stone slate roof with coped verge to south, brick and stone stacks. 2 storeys with attic in gable end, L-shape with through passage. East front has 3 windows, 2-light leaded casements, the pair to far left having wooden trefoil-head frames. Similar single-light window with trefoil-head immediately left of central doorcase with chamfered 4-centred timber arch, large timber lintel over, studded plank door with large strap hinge. 2-light leaded casement to far left, 2-light leaded wood mullion and transom to right. To south, brick wing of very small bricks probably late C16 and smaller C20 brick extension at end. West side has chamfered stone mullion windows, two 2-light on first floor, one 4-light with square hoodmould to left on ground floor and 3-light leaded timber window to right with timber lintel. Central low 4-centred chamfered stone archway with fixed glass panel and cambered wooden hood on brackets and original plank door with decorative iron hinges inside. Timber framed wing in close studding with diagonal bracing at corners, with 2 windows on 1st floor facing north within the studding (2 and 3-light), one square attic opening to east, and one 8-light wood mullion and transom window within the stonework facing north on ground floor with large moulded transom and upper horizontal member. West gable wall of this wing has been rebuilt in coursed and dressed stone. Interior: Remains of screens partition in through passage, many fine fireplaces with both stone and wood bressumers, original internal doors and doorways, many original beams including several ground floor rooms with compartmented ceilings. Early C18 square gatepiers in rusticated dressed stone with moulded cornices and very large stone ball finials.
