2. C17 or earlier, altered and refronted in early C19. Colourwashed brick, first floor with exposed timber framing. Old tile roof, central brick chimney stack with 4 diagonal shafts. Gabled wing on left, smaller gable on right. Two storeys, two wide double-hung sash windows in reveal to both floors, 6 panel door (2 panels fielded) on right with cornice hood. Gabled rear wing, timber framed with red brick infill, tiled roof, 2-storeys. Interior: two large moulded fireplace beams on ground floor. Stair balustrade with splat balusters. (Note: first floor room over carriageway in No 56 is part of No 54).
