SWELL LOWER SWELL SP 1725 7/143 - Stone House
GV II
House. Late C17, remodelled early C20. Rubble with ashlar quoins; Cotswold stone roof, C20 chimneys with moulded capping. L-plan range to SW links with T-plan range to NE, forming a courtyard to SE. 2 storeys and attic. Mullioned windows with drips. To garden (SW): 3 windows to left wine, 2 to right hand wing, mullioned windows of 2, 3 and 4 lights; 2 Cotswold gable dormers to left wing with ball-finials: C20 angled bay to left. Courtyard front: the main part (to left) has 2 gabled dormers, and wall-stack (C20) to right, two 3-light ovolo-moulded mullion and transom windows to 1st floor and one to ground floor; C20 moulded doorway with drip; the wing at right-angles to right is 2 storeyed with 2 windows and the return wing forming the courtyard 1½ storeys, probably C1900 with 4 windows irregular to road.
